Thanksgiving; Yet More Reasons to Give Thanks

The Tabor clan had a ball at Hannah’s first Thanksgiving. Grandma and Grandpa Tabor flew into Southern California for the holiday and Aunt Crystal and Uncle Dave hosted the festivities in their new, palatial, eminently phat crib. Hannah was a little concerned by all of the strangers and unprecedented size of a big-screen TV, but she soon warmed up to everyone. It was a great weekend.

The Monday after Thanksgiving was my first day on the job as Chief Executive Officer of DevStart, Inc., a small dot.com based in Northern San Diego. I’ve been looking at a number of opportunities around the country and this was one of the most interesting. The company’s mission is to provide resources to people who are building web sites and online businesses. I’m looking forward to applying the knowledge I gained from GameSpy to another young company.

The downside of a commute from Orange County to San Diego is that I’m away from the house for quite a while. Fortunately I’ve been able to get an early start and get back home in time for dinner each night. Rebecca has been helping my Hannah fix by taking lots of pictures. Here are a few gems from the first week. The maraca shots are my favorite.

Congrats on the new job! The commute sucks (I did it for a few weeks) but San Diego is nice.

Congrats on the new position. Commuting is really a pain though. i only drive 48 miles one way but sometimes it feels like a hundred. Glad to hear that y'all had a fine Thanksgiving. Have a MErry Christmas too!
